Governor – Cllr F M Simmons

My name is Mamie Simmons and I live on Newton Hall Estate. I have one son who attended Framwellgate Moor Comprehensive School and now lives in Northumberland.

I have been a teacher/headteacher in Durham County Schools for approximately thirty-five years.

I have been a governor at Newton Hall Infants School for approximately twenty years.

It was my privilege to be a Durham City Councillor since 1999, and then becoming a Durham Unitary Authority Councillor since the commencement of the Unitary Authority.

I enjoy being a Governor at Newton Hall Infants School and I will do everything I can to assist the Headteacher with the governance of the school.

I know that the children who attend Newton Hall Infants School are very fortunate to have such a dedicated teaching staff working with them and gaining such a rich education.
